I have been using a Bodymedia Fit for over 6 months and love it. I have previously posted about the Bodybugg and the two devices are the same technology with different interfaces.
I prefer the Bodymedia Fit over the Bodybugg because I find the interface more intuitive and user friendly. Looking at the interface it is definitely directed towards women with pretty colors and so forth as opposed to the Bodybugg which is sold by 24 Hour Fitness.
When I sync the Bodymedia Fit to my computer it notifies me of achievements and personal bests. It also shows more nutrients beyond Calcium which is what you can enter in the Bodybugg interface. The only thing I would like to see would be a way to input nutrient information for recipes since that information is currently only compiled from items stored in Bodymedia’s database.
Neither the Bodybugg or Bodymedia Fit I have used have Bluetooth capabilities, but it does exist. If you have a Bluetooth Bodybugg or Bodymedia fit and a Bluetooth mobile device the product will interface and you can track your progress without the assistance of a computer. Both products have an optional digital display which will give you basic information such as calorie burn, steps, and historical information.
The Bodymedia Fit has amazing mobile applications. I have an android phone and an iPad so I’ve used both apps quite a bit. You can enter your foods, see where you are at consumption and burn wise (as long as you’ve synced or have Bluetooth), and if you have a Sprint android phone there is an ID pack o’widgets, as well to keep the tech g33k in me a happy gal.
